Email Verification
Confidence-scored email validation to protect your sender reputation.

Overview
Sending cold emails to invalid addresses does not just waste your time — it damages your sender reputation, increases bounce rates, and can get your domain blacklisted. HolyShift's email verification runs every discovered email through a multi-step validation process and assigns a confidence level so you know exactly how reliable each contact is before you hit send.
What's Coming
- Domain MX validation — Verifies that the recipient's domain has valid mail exchange records and is capable of receiving email.
- Email pattern detection — Identifies the company's email format (firstname@, firstname.lastname@, first initial + lastname@, etc.) and generates candidate addresses for contacts where a direct email is not publicly available.
- SMTP verification — Tests whether the specific email address exists on the mail server without sending an actual message. This catches typos, outdated addresses, and catch-all domains.
- Confidence levels — Every email is assigned one of four confidence ratings:
| Confidence | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Verified | SMTP confirmed — the email address exists and accepts mail |
| Pattern-matched | Generated from the company's known email pattern — high probability of being correct |
| Guessed | Best guess based on available data — moderate probability |
| MX-only | Domain accepts mail but the specific address could not be confirmed |
- Bounce rate protection — By prioritizing verified and pattern-matched emails, you keep your bounce rate low and your sender reputation intact.
- Bulk verification — All discovered emails are verified automatically as part of the Leads Search pipeline. No manual verification step required.
