Chat Editing
[Live]
Edit your landing page by describing what you want changed.
HolyShift's chat editor lets you refine your landing page through natural conversation. Instead of hunting for the right setting in a toolbar, you describe the change you want and the AI makes it happen — updating the live preview in real time.
How it works
After your landing page is generated, you stay in the same conversation to edit it. The AI remembers everything about your page — your product description, the preset you chose, every section, every word of copy. You describe a change, and it applies it.
The chat editor can modify:
- Text — headlines, subheadlines, body copy, button labels, form fields
- Layout — section order, column arrangements, spacing, alignment
- Colors — background colors, text colors, accent colors, gradients
- Sections — add new sections, remove existing ones, duplicate and modify
- Styling — font sizes, button shapes, border radius, shadows, padding
- Content structure — feature lists, pricing tiers, FAQ questions, testimonials
Changes appear in the live preview panel immediately. You see exactly what visitors will see before you publish.
Tips for effective editing
Be specific
The more specific your prompt, the more accurate the result.
| Instead of this | Try this |
|---|---|
| "Make it look better" | "Increase the contrast between the heading and background" |
| "Change the colors" | "Use #1E40AF as the primary color and #F8FAFC for backgrounds" |
| "Fix the hero" | "Make the hero headline two lines max and move the CTA above the fold" |
| "Add more content" | "Add a 3-column features section below the hero with icons" |
Make one change at a time
For complex edits, break them into steps. "Change the hero background to dark blue, rewrite the headline to focus on speed, and add a customer logo bar below it" is three changes. Making them one at a time gives you more control and makes it easier to undo something you don't like.
Use reference language
You can reference specific sections by name:
- "In the features section, change the third item's heading to 'Real-time sync'"
- "Move the pricing section above the testimonials"
- "Delete the FAQ section"
- "Make the final CTA section match the hero's color scheme"
Describe the feeling
The AI responds well to subjective direction:
- "This feels too corporate — make it warmer and more conversational"
- "The page feels too long — tighten it up"
- "I want the hero to feel more urgent"
- "The overall tone should be confident but not aggressive"
Undo and iterate
If a change doesn't look right, just say "undo that" or "go back." The AI reverts the last change. You can also be specific: "undo the color change but keep the new headline."
Common editing workflows
Refining copy
Start broad, then narrow: 1. "Rewrite the hero headline to focus on saving time" 2. "Make it shorter — under 8 words" 3. "Change 'Save time' to 'Get your mornings back'"
Adjusting design
Layer changes: 1. "Make the background darker" 2. "Now increase the heading font size" 3. "Add more padding between sections"
Adding sections
Be clear about placement and content: 1. "Add a testimonial section after the features" 2. "Include three testimonial cards with names, titles, and quotes" 3. "Use placeholder content — I'll replace it with real quotes later"
FAQ
Is there a limit to how many edits I can make?
No. Edit as many times as you need. The AI maintains context throughout the entire conversation.
Can I edit after publishing?
Yes. Go back to the Build tab, make your changes in the chat, and click Publish again. Your live page updates automatically.
Can the AI write copy for me?
Absolutely. Ask it to "write a testimonial from a startup founder who saved 10 hours a week" or "suggest three alternative headlines." The AI generates copy options and applies your choice.
What if the AI misunderstands my request?
Say "that's not what I meant" and rephrase. The AI will try a different interpretation. Being more specific usually resolves misunderstandings on the second attempt.
Can I paste my own HTML or CSS?
Not through the chat editor. The builder generates and manages the code. You control the output through conversation, not code. This keeps pages consistent, responsive, and SEO-optimized.
