Overview
This tutorial walks you through HolyShift's Leads Search pipeline — from reviewing your auto-generated customer persona to exporting a verified lead list. By the end, you will have a CSV of scored, verified contacts with outreach angle suggestions ready for your first campaign.
Expected time: 15 to 20 minutes for review and export. Company discovery and verification run automatically.
Step-by-Step
Step 1: Review Your Auto-Generated Persona
Open your project and navigate to Grow > Leads Search. HolyShift generates a customer persona from your validation data — job titles, company sizes, industries, and pain points drawn from real market conversations.
Review the persona carefully. It is based on demand signals, not assumptions, but you know your business best.
Tip: Pay attention to the pain points listed in the persona. These feed directly into outreach angle suggestions later. If a pain point is missing or incorrect, edit it now.
Step 2: Browse Discovered Companies
HolyShift automatically discovers companies matching your persona through competitor customer analysis (G2, Capterra, Product Hunt, testimonials, case studies), industry directories, and AI web research.
Browse the company list in the results table. Each company includes industry, size, location, and source information. Companies are deduplicated by domain — you will not see the same company twice even if it was found on three different platforms.
Tip: Sort by relevance score to see the highest-fit companies first. If you are targeting a specific region or company size, use the filters to narrow the list.
Step 3: Identify Decision-Makers
For each target company, HolyShift identifies people in roles matching your persona — the decision-makers who can say yes to your product. Contact discovery uses company data validation, Google search, and optional LinkedIn integration.
Review the contacts listed for each company. HolyShift typically finds two to three relevant contacts per company.
Tip: If you have a LinkedIn account connected, HolyShift can access richer profile data for more accurate role matching. This is optional but improves results.
Step 4: Verify Emails
Every discovered email address runs through HolyShift's multi-step verification: domain MX validation, email pattern detection, and SMTP verification. Each email gets a confidence rating: verified, pattern-matched, guessed, or mx-only.
Review the confidence levels in your results table. Prioritize verified and pattern-matched emails for your first outreach campaign.
Tip: Start your outreach with verified emails only. As you build sender reputation and confidence in your messaging, expand to pattern-matched addresses. Avoid sending cold emails to guessed addresses until you have a strong deliverability track record.
Step 5: Export
Click Export to CSV to download your complete lead list. The export includes: company name, industry, size, location, contact name, role, email, confidence level, lead score, and AI-generated outreach angle.
Tip: Review the outreach angles before your first campaign. They are personalized suggestions based on each prospect's context — use them as starting points for your email copy, not as final drafts.
