Troubleshooting
Running into an issue? Find the most common problems and their solutions below. If your issue isn't listed here, contact support.
Validation is taking too long
What you're seeing: Your validation has been running for longer than expected and hasn't completed yet.
Cause: Full validation cycles (Basic plan and above) analyze 500-1,000 real market conversations, which involves gathering and processing data from multiple sources in real time. For niche or emerging markets, finding sufficient signal data can take longer.
What to do:
- Check your project dashboard — if the validation shows a progress indicator, it's still actively working
- Wait up to 15 minutes for a full research cycle to complete
- You'll receive an email notification when your report is ready, so you don't need to keep the page open
- If it's been more than 30 minutes with no progress, try refreshing the page
- If the issue persists, contact support with your project name — we can check the status on our end
Landing page not publishing
What you're seeing: You've clicked publish but your landing page isn't live at its subdomain, or it shows an error.
Cause: This is usually one of three things: the subdomain slug is already taken, there's a temporary deployment issue, or the page content didn't save properly.
What to do:
- Check your subdomain — try a different slug if the one you chose is taken
- Save before publishing — make sure all recent edits are saved, then try publishing again
- Clear your browser cache — sometimes a stale cache shows an old version or an error that's already resolved
- Wait 2-3 minutes — DNS propagation for new subdomains can take a short time
- Try opening the page in an incognito/private window to rule out caching issues
- If the page still won't publish, contact support
Verification email not received
What you're seeing: You signed up with email but never received the verification link.
Cause: Email delivery can be delayed by spam filters, full inboxes, or typos in the email address.
What to do:
- Check your spam/junk folder — verification emails sometimes get filtered
- Check for typos — make sure you entered the correct email address during sign-up
- Click "Resend verification" on the sign-in page to send a fresh link
- Wait a few minutes — email delivery can take up to 5 minutes during peak times
- If you're using a corporate email with strict filtering, try adding noreply@holyshift.ai to your contacts or allowlist
- Still nothing? Contact support and we'll verify your account manually
Confidence score seems low
What you're seeing: Your Pretotyping Signal Report came back with a confidence score lower than you expected.
Cause: A low confidence score isn't necessarily bad news — it means HolyShift found limited or mixed signals for your specific idea in its current form. This is valuable information.
What to do:
- Read the full report — the confidence score is a summary, but the details matter more. Look at the demand signals, objections, and risk assessment for specific insights
- Check your project description — if it's too vague, HolyShift may not be searching for the right signals. Make your description more specific and rerun
- Narrow your target market — "everyone" is too broad. Try "SaaS founders with less than $10K MRR" instead of "tech companies"
- Consider it a signal, not a verdict — a low score on your first attempt might mean you need to reposition, not abandon. Use the report's recommended next steps
- Upgrade to Basic for a full research cycle (500-1,000 conversations) if you're on the Free plan — more data produces more nuanced confidence scores
Can't invite team members
What you're seeing: The invite button is grayed out, or invited members aren't receiving invitations.
Cause: Team invitations require the Team plan ($497/month), which includes 5 seats. If you're on a lower plan, the invite feature is disabled.
What to do:
- Check your plan — go to Settings > Subscription to confirm you're on the Team plan
- Check seat availability — if all 5 included seats are filled, you'll need to contact support for additional seats
- Verify the email address — make sure you're entering the correct email for the person you're inviting
- Ask the invitee to check spam — invitation emails can be filtered the same way verification emails are
- Check your role — only Owners and Admins can invite team members. If you're a Member or Viewer, ask your workspace Owner to send the invite
